French Montana Steps In to Help Cab Driver Whose Taxi Was Destroyed During Knicks Celebration

French Montana is trying to help a New York City cab driver whose vehicle was severely damaged during the chaotic celebrations following the New York Knicks’ historic NBA championship victory.

The rapper took to social media after seeing a viral video of 59-year-old cab driver Noureddine Bitat standing helplessly beside his wrecked taxi as fans climbed on top of it and celebrated in the streets. Moved by the footage, French posted a message asking his followers to help him locate the driver so he could assist him financially.

“Somebody find him for me so we can help him get back on his feet,” French wrote on X, later sharing the appeal on Instagram as well.

The effort quickly gained traction. French reached out to content creator Zachery Dereniowski, better known as MDMotivator, and together they partnered with the New York Taxi Workers Alliance to launch a GoFundMe campaign for Bitat. The fundraiser aims to raise $25,000 to help the driver recover from the damage and return to work.

According to the campaign, Bitat’s cab was “severely damaged” during the post-game celebrations after the Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs to secure their first NBA title in 53 years. Reports also claim he was assaulted and dragged from his vehicle amid the chaos, turning what should have been a night of celebration into a devastating ordeal for the driver.

The Knicks’ championship sparked massive celebrations across New York City, but authorities reported dozens of arrests, damaged police vehicles, and multiple incidents of vandalism throughout Manhattan. Amid the chaos, French Montana’s gesture has been widely praised, with many fans applauding the rapper for using his platform to support someone caught in the middle of the mayhem.
