Lindsay Clancy trial live updates: Mom stone-faced as jury sees gruesome pics from her botched suicide attempt; sobs as docs recount efforts to save sons

Killer Massachusetts mom Lindsay Clancy sat stone-faced in court Friday as the jury saw a gruesome series of photos showing her near death from a botched suicide attempt — but broke during testimony by emergency room doctors who tried desperately to save the two sons she strangled.

Earlier in the day, jurors who will decide whether Clancy, 35, is guilty of murder for killing her three young children while postpartum in 2023 toured her former Duxbury home, where the unfathomable act took place.

A coach bus also took the 18-person jury past a nearby restaurant and a CVS, retracing husband Patrick Clancy’s steps on the night of the killings. The father of the three tiny victims was picking up medicine for the children and a take-out dinner — before returning home to the gruesome murder scene.

Clancy, a labor and delivery nurse faces life in prison without parole if convicted.

Her defense has argued that the mother is not criminally responsible for killing Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, in January 2023, because she was suffering from postpartum psychosis exacerbated by a dangerous cocktail of 15 psychiatric medications at the time, despite seeking mental health treatment for months.

Court has wrapped for the day, but keep reading for new details and evidence pics revealed Friday at the Lindsay Clancy trial:

Dr. Mark Tenerowicz first testified about being unable to get Dawson, 3, to start breathing again.

Then Dr. Benjamin Kaufman told the jury he treated Clancy’s 8-month-old son, Callan.

Callan regained a heartbeat for roughly ten minutes while he was in the hospital, but he never started breathing again and he didn’t have any brain function, Kaufman testified.

Eventually Callan, clinging to life, was transferred to another hospital.

ER doc tried for 40 minutes to revive Dawson, 3: testimony

ER doctor Mark Tenerowicz — a physician at Beth Israel Deaconess in Plymouth — just told the jury he tried to revive Lindsay Clancy’s middle child, three-year-old Dawson, for 40 minutes before declaring him dead.

Tenerowicz said they performed CPR, gave him IV fluids, and gave him doses of adrenaline to try to restart his heart, as well as other treatments, but nothing worked.

“It did not look like his heart would ever start again,” the doctor said.

Cop recounts accompanying Lindsay Clancy by helicopter to second hospital where she nearly died

Duxbury Police Officer Richard Lippard testified that he flew in a helicopter with a sedated Lindsay Clancy to a hospital in Boston when she nearly died overnight on Jan. 24, 2023.

Lippard first went to South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth, Mass., and then went on a med-flight with her to Brigham and Women’s in Boston.

He said he stayed with her for 16 hours in Boston but never spoke with her because she remained sedated.

At one point during the night at Brigham and Women’s there was a medical incident but Lippard didn’t know what that was.

“There was a medical code during the night time,” the cop said. “I’m not sure what that was.”

On cross-examination by Clancy’s defense, Lippard admitted he heard a “code blue.”

“That meant she was dead or dying, right?” Clancy’s lawyer Kevin Reddington asked the cop.

“Yes,” Lippard responded.

Lippard said he had to ensure that no one came in to visit Clancy.

Officer Mark Maffeo said he was assigned to watch Lindsay Clancy at the hospital and he eventually went back to her house after.

Under cross-examination by Clancy’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington — that the killer mom sat listening to with a stony expression on her face — Maffeo and the jury were shown photos of Clancy intubated in a hospital bed the night of the murders.

Maffeo said she wasn’t awake as he stood guard.

One photo showed Clancy splayed out on the bed, laying on her back with an apparatus in her mouth and a neck brace on. The images also showed her cut and bloodied wrists and neck. The graphic images were first shown in court on Monday, during opening arguments.

Jury bus drives by restaurant where Patrick Clancy picked up take-out — unaware Lindsay Clancy was killing kids back at home

A bus carrying the 18 jurors who will decide Lindsay Clancy’s fate was spotted Friday morning driving by ThreeV restaurant in Plymouth, Mass., accompanied by a police escort.

The pool of 12 jurors and six alternates were inside a coach bus that slowly drove by the restaurant without stopping, as seen in video taken by WBZ CBS Boston.

ThreeV was the second of the three sites the jury will see today — the first being a CVS in Kingston that Patrick stopped at as the kids were being murdered, and the final being the Clancys’ former home in Duxbury, where the tragedy unfolded.

Lindsay sent Patrick out to make the two stops the evening of Jan. 24, 2023, and strangled Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, while he was gone.

The jury is expected to go inside the home in groups of six.

Media barred from capturing images of jurors during view of Lindsay Clancy’s home

The press has been ordered not to capture images of the jury when they go inside the home where Lindsay Clancy and her family lived when she killed her kids.

The media has to stay 100 yards away from Clancys’ former home, and they can’t show the panel members on camera — all to ensure Clancy gets a fair trial and to protect juror privacy.

The members — who are being transported from court on a coach bus — will go into the house in groups of six, the judge said in court this morning before the outing.

What we know about the 3 locations jurors are touring Friday

The jury of 18 will first stop at a CVS in Kingston, Massachusetts, and then a restaurant in Plymouth, tracing Patrick Clancy’s steps on the errands he ran while then-wife Lindsay Clancy was killing their three kids at home.

A general manager of the CVS testified Wednesday that Lindsay called ahead to ask where a children’s laxative was located before sending Patrick to go buy it. Surveillance footage of Patrick going into the store and a receipt of the purchase were shown to jurors.

Patrick also testified that he spoke with Lindsay by phone while he was in the store to ask her if a different brand of the medication was okay. He said she sounded “busy” during the brief call and so he assumed she was bathing the kids.

Lindsay also called ahead to ThreeV Restaurant in Plymouth, placing an order for risotto and a Mediterranean power bowl, a hostess at the restaurant testified.

Surveillance footage played for the jury Wednesday showed Patrick making the second stop to pick up the food.

He then returned home to an eerily quiet house before finding blood “everywhere” in the couple’s second-story bedroom and the window open.

Patrick told jurors he ran outside and saw Lindsay laying on her back in the backyard with her wrists and neck sliced. He called 911 while he frantically asked Lindsay where the kids were. She responded that they were in the basement.

Patrick then found all of his kids lifeless with elastic exercise bands around their necks just as first responders were arriving.

The jury is expected to be escorted into the home in groups of six after stopping at the store and the restaurant.

Jurors heard from nine first responders Thursday about grim state lifeless children were found in

Yesterday, the jury endured graphic and heartbreaking details about the condition first responders found Lindsay Clancy’s three children in on the fateful night of Jan. 24, 2023.

Two cops testified about arriving at the Duxbury home to see Clancy semi-conscious on the ground in the backyard after a suicide attempt, and husband Patrick Clancy frantically discovering his three young kids were strangled, screaming, “She killed the f–king kids!”

In total, nine first responders testified during the half-day of trial before Judge William F. Sullivan dismissed the jury early, saying lawyers needed time to “hammer out issues.”

Jury to visit Clancy family home where kids were strangled, and CVS, restaurant where dad Patrick ran errands as Lindsay killed them

The jury overseeing Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial is going to be taken to the same stops that husband Patrick Clancy made before returning home to find his kids dead.

Lindsay sent Patrick out on two errands on the evening of Jan. 24, 2023, during which time she strangled their three young kids with elastic workout bands.

The jury will be taken on a bus to the CVS Patrick picked up a medication from and the restaurant where he picked up takeout food from, ThreeV.

Then the panel will be taken to the Duxbury home where the killings occurred. The house is currently owned by a lawyer who tried to block the jury from visiting the property, but the judge decided a tour was vital to the case, according to NBC Boston.

Judge William Sullivan explained to the jurors Friday morning that they will be taken into the house in groups of six.

“You’re about to visit and go by a number of places you’ve heard about at trial,” Sullivan said.

This is so they can “better understand the evidence and to help you appreciate the location and the surroundings about these different areas.”

After the viewings, the panelists will return to court for additional testimony, the judge said.
