I came home from work early and found my wife half naked with another man in my living room. I let him run. I didn’t touch her either, even though I wanted to. Twelve years of marriage, four kids,...

I walked into my own living room and caught my wife half naked with another man. She couldn’t even say a word. He scrambled for his clothes, and I told him if he wasn’t out in sixty seconds, I’d shoot him. He ran.

I didn’t touch her, didn’t scream. I just got back in my truck and sat there with my head on the wheel for ten minutes. Pauline and I had been married for twelve years. Four kids together, the oldest eleven, the youngest four.

I worked as a welder, made good money, and I thought we were fine. Turns out she was anything but fine with our marriage. She was fine with cheating on me, though. The divorce came a few months later.

I got bled dry. She kept the house, got alimony and child support, and even with my neighbor testifying that he’d seen her lover going in and out, I only ended up with 30% custody. My son and daughter wanted to stay with me, but the courts favor mothers, right? So I accepted it.

I made my time with my kids count. They were happy at my place, and for a while, that was enough. Then Pauline noticed. She dropped them off late, picked them up early, tried everything to make my time with them miserable.

When that didn’t work, she started poisoning them with lies about me. It didn’t work too well at first. They still loved coming to my place. So she stopped bringing them altogether.

I drove to her house to pick them up. The first time, she let them go. The second time, she refused. She told me to get off her property or she’d call the police, and I dared her to.

When they showed up, she cried those crocodile tears, saying over and over that the kids didn’t want to go with me. The cops couldn’t force them, so it ended there. I left without my children. That was three months ago.

I haven’t seen my kids since. Every time I went back, her boyfriend answered the door and got aggressive with me. I swallowed my pride because I didn’t want my kids watching me get arrested. So I took it to family court.

I wanted the custody agreement enforced, and I made sure the court saw that I’d held up my end of the bargain. I made every payment on time. I said nothing about her cheating. None of it mattered.

She stood there and told the judge she was protecting the children. Protecting them from what? Apparently, my six-year-old daughter had told her mother that I was touching her. I’ve never done anything close to that in my life.

Absolutely nothing. I started calling her a liar right there in the courtroom. They had to caution me three times to quiet down. My own daughter, accusing me of the worst thing a father can be accused of.

I cried when I got home. The judge gave her full custody pending an investigation. An interview with a child psychologist was arranged, and my daughter supposedly told them the same thing. Her word became law.

My word meant nothing. They checked my phone, my computer, my social media. They found nothing because there was nothing to find. The other kids were questioned, and none of them had anything similar to say.

They just said they missed me. The allegations remained inconclusive, but because there was supposed danger to my daughter, they stayed with their mother. I lost all faith in the system. I couldn’t even bring myself to talk to my kids about the accusation.

It was too disgusting to put in front of them. But my eleven-year-old is smart. He picked things up. Pauline and her boyfriend talked loud enough that he heard what was going on.

One day, a video recording showed up on my Instagram from him. It was him filming from around the staircase at their dining table, where Pauline and her boyfriend sat, laughing for twenty-eight minutes. They were talking about me, joking about it, and then they said something about adding my nine-year-old daughter to the lie if I didn’t back down. They laughed about that, too.

I needed more evidence than that, though. It didn’t feel like enough. So I got into her Twitter account. She kept her private messages open through her browser, and she would talk to her friends like a fool.

I found a message to a female friend where she said, two weeks prior, that she had to make up some crap to take down her asshole ex. Obviously, that was me. I screenshotted it so fast. I went back to court with the video and the screenshot.

It blindsided her. She tried to say the video was misinterpreted, tried to say the DMs weren’t about me. But common sense wasn’t on her side anymore. The inconclusive investigation, the fact that no other child had said anything, the video, the screenshot.

It all added up. She couldn’t keep her mouth shut about destroying my life, and that became her downfall. I got full custody. I got my kids back.

I couldn’t be happier, honestly. There’s another court date scheduled, and things might change, but right now, my children are home with me, and that’s what I have. Have you ever fought against a false accusation?

What kept you going through the hardest part?
