Houston concertgoers were left stunned Tuesday night when Don Toliver’s set came to an abrupt halt — not because of technical issues, but a security scare inside the venue.
According to reports, the rapper was near the end of his performance at the Toyota Center when he suddenly walked off stage. An announcer initially told the crowd to stay seated, saying the show wasn’t over. But moments later, the lights came on, and the audience was asked to leave.
Houston Police Department officials confirmed to TMZ that a 30-year-old man was stopped by security after triggering a metal detector with a handgun. A guard contacted law enforcement, who took the man into custody. He was later transported to the Harris County Jail.
Sources say the concert ended about 10 minutes early, and Don had already completed the majority of his set. The decision to wrap things up early was reportedly made out of an abundance of caution for the artist, fans, and staff.
As for Thursday’s scheduled show? It’s still expected to go on as planned.
With the suspect now in custody and the venue’s security protocols under scrutiny, one question lingers: how did the man get that close to the entrance in the first place?
