A 70-year-old photographer found himself in the middle of unexpected police š¯’¹š¯“‡š¯’¶š¯“‚š¯’¶ at Cardi B’s music video shoot in Brooklyn on Monday, and the whole thing was caught on camera.
Law enforcement sources say Steven Sands allegedly bypassed police barriers and ignored orders from the rapper’s security team during the shoot in Sunset Park, where Cardi B had a valid permit to film.
According to reports, Sands refused to comply when police told him to stop his disruptive behavior. He was reportedly issued a criminal court summons for disorderly conduct, though he was never formally arrested.
Video posted to Instagram shows the photographer being handcuffed by NYPD officers next to a patrol car.
But Sands tells a very different story. He claims he arrived at the shoot before Cardi B and was initially given instructions by a security guard on how to handle the crowd and media. He says the guard then moved him behind equipment, blocking his view of the star.
When Sands asked to move just 10 feet to an open area for a better shot, he says the guard refused, claiming Cardi wouldn’t want that. Sands reportedly responded, “I don’t mean to be rude, but I don’t care what Cardi wants.”
The situation quickly escalated from there, leading to police cuffing him and issuing a summons.
