Lil Wayne and Lil Yachty's Racehorse Wins $400K, Earns Breeders' Cup Berth

Two rap superstars just scored a big win—not in the studio, but at the racetrack. Lil Wayne and Lil Yachty are celebrating after their racehorse, Listenupshance, took home a massive $400,000 prize and locked in a spot at the prestigious Breeders’ Cup.

The 4-year-old gelding, backed by the celebrity-owned Run Fast Racing stable, pulled off a thrilling victory in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes on Saturday at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. Jockey Emisael Jaramillo guided Listenupshance to the front early and held off a hard-charging Maximum Bourbon by a nose at the wire.

The win was a career first for Listenupshance, who completed the six-furlong sprint in just 1.09 minutes. More importantly, the victory earned him a fees-paid entry into the Breeders’ Cup Sprint, set for October 31 at Keeneland.

Run Fast Racing was launched by entertainment entrepreneur Adam Kluger and counts Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, Latin star Rauw Alejandro, and businessman Glenn Sorgenstein among its co-owners. The company also offers everyday fans a chance to get in on the action for just $100 a month, making racehorse ownership more accessible.

Listenupshance entered Saturday’s race off a third-place finish in the Grade 3 True North Stakes at Saratoga, making this Grade 1 triumph even sweeter. For Jaramillo, it marked his first Grade 1 victory on U. S.

soil.

Run Fast Racing says it has already paid out nearly $60,000 in winnings to its owners through its Direct Pay program. With a Breeders’ Cup berth now secured, all eyes will be on Listenupshance as he gears up for the biggest race of his career—can the rap-backed horse keep the momentum rolling?
