Max Verstappen didn’t hold back during Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix—and the four-time F1 champion’s explosive team radio has just surfaced online, leaving fans stunned.
The Dutchman crossed the finish line in second place at the Hungaroring, but his frustration was boiling over long before the checkered flag. Starting sixth on the grid, Verstappen moved up to third after post-qualifying penalties bumped Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli down, yet his race was far from smooth.
Throughout the 70-lap event, Verstappen could be heard complaining about gear shifts on his RB22. But his angriest outburst wasn’t aimed at his race engineer. Instead, he took aim at the two drivers from Red Bull’s junior team, Racing Bulls—Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad.
In a clip now circulating on social media, Verstappen is seen getting stuck behind the Racing Bulls duo, who were reportedly ignoring the blue flags that signal slower cars to let faster drivers pass. The reigning champion quickly lost patience.
“They should get a penalty. This is f***ing ridiculous, these morons! My God,” Verstappen shouted over team radio, according to the recording.
Lawson and Lindblad, both highly competitive this season, finished eighth and tenth respectively. Their team principal allegedly offered an upgrade incentive for the previous round at Silverstone, fueling their intense rivalry on track.
While there were reports that the FIA’s flag system may have malfunctioned at times during the race, that explanation reportedly doesn’t apply here—the two Racing Bulls drivers just didn’t move over.
