Ruby Stewart is counting down the weeks until she becomes a mom of two—and her closest friends made sure the milestone was one she’ll never forget.
The singer and model, who is expecting her second child with fiancé Jake Kalick this August, recently shared a glimpse inside a surprise baby sprinkle that left her feeling overwhelmed with gratitude. The intimate celebration was filled with family, friends, thoughtful decorations, and plenty of emotional moments as Ruby prepared for the arrival of her baby girl.
On June 27, Ruby posted photos and videos from the event on Instagram, revealing that she had no idea her friends were planning the celebration.
“I’ve never felt so loved,” she wrote, thanking the group for organizing the surprise gathering in Austin, Texas, where she has lived for the past six years. Rather than hosting a traditional baby shower, the group chose a more relaxed baby sprinkle, a smaller celebration typically held for parents expecting their second or third child.
The event embraced a gender-neutral, laid-back atmosphere with brunch, coffee, flowers, and cozy décor. Guests enjoyed a “Baby Is Brewing” theme complete with specialty coffee drinks, while Ruby shared photos of herself smiling with loved ones and showing off her growing baby bump.
Ruby first announced her pregnancy in May with the help of her 3-year-old son, Otis.
In a sweet Instagram post, Otis held up a sonogram photo while looking adorably confused, as Ruby joked that she and Jake “couldn’t decide what to get Otis for his birthday,” so they gave him a sibling instead. The couple revealed that Baby No. 2 is due in early August.
The happy news has been celebrated throughout the Stewart family.
Ruby’s famous father, rock legend Rod Stewart, along with several of her siblings and relatives, congratulated the couple after the pregnancy announcement. Ruby is one of Rod Stewart’s eight children, and the growing family has remained especially close over the years, frequently supporting one another at major life events.
Fiancé Jake Kalick has also been openly celebrating Ruby throughout her pregnancy.
On Mother’s Day, he shared heartfelt messages on social media, calling Ruby an incredible mother to Otis and expressing his excitement about watching her become a mom of two.
