Kate Middleton Joins the White-hot Shoe Trend at Trooping the Colour Parade in London

It was only a matter of time before Kate Middleton joined in on the white-hot shoe trend. The Princess of Wales attended the Trooping the Colour celebrations in London on Saturday wearing a classic pair of pointed-toe stilettos, created in a crisp white leather that perfectly accented her powder-blue ensemble.

True to form, while staying within the ongoing white footwear trend, the royal still kept her shoe choice traditional, returning once again her go-to luxury footwear designer, Gianvito Rossi. She opted for the Italian brand’s reliable Gianvito 105 design, which she turns to often for public appearances.

The Gianvito 105 is a signature style for the brand. The silhouette of the handmade Italian shoe is defined by a sleek 105mm stiletto heel and a statement pointy toe, with a flattering low-cut vamp that helps show off the entire foot. Middleton opted for the style in white napa leather, but they are also made in white satin. They both retail for $850.

She owns the shoe style in a wide variety of colors, shades and materials, but doesn’t often wear the white pair. She reportedly debuted the shoes in white during a visit to Jamaica in 2022 but hasn’t worn them much since.

For her appearance on Saturday, she paired the heels with a Catherine Walker Lafayette Coatdress in a pale blue shade with white accents that matched the shoes. She accessorized with a Philip Treacy Oc 315 in light blue, and Cassandra Goad Cavolfiore Pearl Stud earrings.

The coat dress was viewed as an ode to her late mother-in-law. Princess Diana and her son, Prince William, wore similar ensembles at the Easter Service in 1987. The then-princess wore a pale blue coat designed by Catherine Walker, who made a similar one for Prince William.
