In the alleged letters, Joseph apologized to relatives individually and wrote that he had “brought shame on everyone” and felt “ashamed of himself.” Sources claimed he acknowledged that some family members may not want to speak with him following his arrest.

The reports suggest Joseph has been reflecting heavily on his situation while in custody, while also dealing with strained relationships within his extended family. Several Duggar relatives have already spoken publicly about the arrest, with some expressing shock, disappointment, and support for the alleged victim.
