She reportedly told Joseph that she loved him “like a brother” and wanted him to know that help was available if he needed anything while behind bars.

Anna also sent Joseph money and shared practical advice based on her husband Josh Duggar’s previous experience at the same Washington County Correctional Facility. Josh, who is currently serving a federal prison sentence after being convicted on child sexual abuse material charges, spent time at the Arkansas jail before his transfer to federal custody.

In her message, Anna reportedly reassured Joseph that the facility had been relatively safe during Josh’s stay. She encouraged him to notify family members immediately if he experienced any concerns about his health or safety and offered to send additional funds or commissary items if his detention lasted longer than expected.

She warned him not to discuss any details of his criminal case through jail phone calls, emails, or video chats, reminding him that all communications were being monitored and could be reviewed by prosecutors. Instead, she advised him to save any legal discussions for conversations with his attorney.

The following day, Joseph reportedly reached out to Anna seeking assistance in contacting his wife, Kendra Duggar. In response, Anna offered guidance on how to cope with isolation while incarcerated, suggesting that he request visits from the jail chaplain and ask for additional reading materials.
