Amy Duggar is speaking out against her cousin Joseph Duggar after leaked jail calls revealed details of his conversations with wife Kendra Duggar following his arrest on child molestation charges.
In a TikTok video shared on social media, Amy criticized a comment Joseph made during one of the recorded calls, in which he reportedly described Kendra as “competent.” According to Amy, the remark highlighted what she believes is an unhealthy dynamic in their marriage.
“You hear this? He called his wife ‘competent’ and she took it as a compliment,” Amy said. “Last time I checked, marriage isn’t a performance review and she’s not your employee.”
The former reality TV personality went on to suggest that Kendra’s reaction reflected years of low expectations within the relationship.
“I think that’s what happens when the bar is set so low,” Amy continued. “It’s sad that she seems willing to accept any breadcrumb that comes her way. That tells me she’s probably been starving for affirmation for a very long time.”
Amy’s comments came after several jail calls between Joseph and Kendra were leaked following his March 2026 arrest. In one conversation, Joseph discussed his workout routine while being held at the Washington County Jail in Arkansas.
“I’m doing my burn bootcamp-style workout,” Joseph reportedly said. “Squats, push-ups, dips off the edge of the bed. I figured I might as well do something.”
He also told Kendra that he was trying to avoid junk food and focus on vegetables and protein while incarcerated, joking that he hoped to “trim up” during his time behind bars.
Kendra responded by saying she felt like she was losing weight as well.
“Oh yeah, I’m trimming up, I think,” she reportedly told her husband. “I haven’t gotten on the scale, but I’m feeling a lot trimmer now.”
Joseph was arrested in March 2026 and later transferred to Florida, where prosecutors charged him with lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under the age of 12 and lewd and lascivious conduct by an adult. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Authorities allege the incidents involved a 9-year-old girl during a family vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida, in 2020.
In addition to the Florida case, Joseph and Kendra were both charged in Arkansas with four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of false imprisonment. Kendra was released shortly after her arrest, while Joseph later secured his release on a $600,000 bond.
Reports have also claimed that Kendra helped raise money for Joseph’s bond by selling personal belongings and converting parts of their property into a rental. Despite the mounting legal challenges facing the couple, leaked calls and emails suggest the two have remained in regular contact and continue to support one another.
Amy’s latest criticism adds another layer of public scrutiny to the Duggar family as Joseph’s legal battle continues to unfold in both Florida and Arkansas.
