Newly released letters written by former reality TV star Josh Duggar to his wife, Anna Duggar, have exposed a series of graphic and intimate messages sent while he was being held at the Washington County Detention Center in Arkansas ahead of his 2022 sentencing.
According to reports published Friday, Duggar repeatedly asked Anna to send revealing photos and described explicit fantasies while awaiting transfer to federal prison following his conviction on child sexual abuse material charges.
“I miss you my lover,” Duggar reportedly wrote in one letter. “I miss being in the shower with you scrubbing, I miss watching you try on clothes, I miss watching you being sexy.”
The former “19 Kids and Counting” star allegedly encouraged Anna to buy revealing outfits and requested photos of her in lingerie and swimsuits. In one message, Duggar suggested she try on “something low cut” or model a “two-piece swimsuit” for him.
He also reportedly praised Anna’s appearance and referred to her “sexy cleavage” after receiving photos she sent while he was incarcerated.
Additional letters described Duggar asking his wife what she was “thinking, dreaming, fantasizing” about before sharing his own detailed fantasies involving massages and private moments together.
In another note, Duggar claimed he had been “doing a lot of writing” imagining the couple alone together and “taking things up a notch.”
The letters were reportedly exchanged in May 2022, the same month Duggar was sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison after being convicted in December 2021 of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse materials.
Josh and Anna Duggar married in 2008 and share seven children together: Mackynzie, Michael, Marcus, Meredith, Mason, Maryella and Madyson.
The release of the letters comes as the Duggar family continues to face renewed public scrutiny. Duggar’s younger brother, Joseph Duggar, is currently battling serious criminal allegations in both Arkansas and Florida, including charges related to alleged child molestation and child endangerment.
Recent reports have also revealed that Anna Duggar assisted Josh in preparing legal paperwork tied to his failed attempt to overturn his conviction. A federal judge ultimately denied the motion, ruling it had been filed too late.
Josh Duggar remains in federal custody and is currently scheduled for release in February 2033.
