Joy-Anna Duggar is speaking publicly for the first time after her brother, Joseph Duggar, was arrested on serious child molestation charges that have shaken the Duggar family.
“What has come out about my brother is heartbreaking and deeply disturbing,” she wrote. “My heart is with the victim, and I am grieved by the pain and harm caused. I have been a wreck this week and am taking time to process.”
Joseph Duggar, 31, was arrested on March 18 and charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under 12 years old, along with additional charges related to inappropriate behavior involving a minor. According to legal documents previously obtained by media outlets, investigators allege that Joseph confessed during a phone call involving the victim’s father and law enforcement.
The allegations have sparked widespread reaction online and prompted several members of the Duggar family to publicly address the situation.
Joy-Anna explained that while she still has a few pre-recorded social media commitments to fulfill, she plans to step away from the spotlight to spend time with her family and focus on healing emotionally.
“Thank you for your prayers,” she concluded in her message.
Other Duggar siblings have also expressed heartbreak over the allegations. Jill Duggar Dillard said she and her family were “shocked and heartbroken,” while Jinger Duggar described the situation as “painful on many levels” during a recent podcast episode with husband Jeremy Vuolo.
Meanwhile, Joseph Duggar’s wife, Kendra Duggar, was also arrested in Arkansas on unrelated charges involving child endangerment and false imprisonment. Family representatives have stated that Kendra is not accused of participating in Joseph’s alleged crimes in Florida.
As the legal process continues, the case has once again placed the Duggar family under intense public scrutiny, with many supporters and critics reacting strongly across social media platforms.
