General Hospital Comings & Goings: Dean Geyer Cast as Tristan Roberts
A new character with a familiar-sounding name is headed to Port Charles! Dean Geyer is joining the cast of General Hospital in the role of Tristan Roberts. The casting was first confirmed by TV Insider.

The New Guy
Geyer is best known for his roles as Mark Reynolds on the sci-fi series Terra Nova and Brody Weston on Glee, and has also appeared in movies like A Ring for Christmas and A Little Womenโs Christmas. While GH marks his daytime debut, it is not the actorโs first soap role: He played struggling musician Ty Harper on the Aussie sudser Neighbours from 2008-09.
Born in South Africa, Geyer, who, in addition to his acting work, is a singer/songwriter, competed in the fourth season of Australian Idol, the Down Under version of American Idol, coming in third. He has also released five singles and, in 2007, a full-length album titled Rush.
Geyer can be spotted in a video that GH posted on Instagram showing the cast and crew celebrating the taping of the long-running ABC soapโs 16,000th episode. He can be seen among the other actors posing for group photos on set.
โThereโs nothing like celebrating a milestone with friends, family, and cake to cure a case of the Mondays,โ read the caption. โ63 years and 16,000 episodes later, weโre still going strong thanks to all of you! Thank you so much๐ for watching.โ
At this time, there is no additional information available regarding Geyerโs first air date or what kind of connections Tristan might have with any residents in Port Charles. Also intriguing is casting an Australian actor as a character with a name referencing the late Tristan Rogers, the Aussie actor who played fan-favorite character Robert Scorpio. Rogers passed away in August 2025, but the show has not scripted an on-air death for his long-running alter ego, who was last seen on the show in July 2025.
