The woman accused of opening fire outside Rihanna’s Los Angeles mansion has now suffered another devastating setback — this time involving her own child.
According to reports, a Florida judge ruled that Ivanna Lisette Ortiz will have absolutely no contact with her child unless the child’s father personally approves it. The court reportedly granted her ex, Jed Nikko Valdez Sangalang, full custody and complete decision-making authority following concerns tied to Ortiz’s mental health history and ongoing criminal case.
The shocking custody decision comes as Ortiz faces a mountain of criminal charges connected to the alleged shooting incident that reportedly unfolded outside Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home in March. Authorities claim Ortiz fired multiple rounds from an AR-15-style rifle while Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and their three children were inside the property.
Ortiz has pleaded not guilty to all charges, but prosecutors are reportedly pursuing serious counts including attempted murder, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
During the custody proceedings, the court reportedly heard testimony involving Ortiz’s past mental health issues, including a previous Baker Act hospitalization in Florida. Although Ortiz allegedly claimed the psychiatric hold stemmed from false accusations, the judge cited “concerning testimony” before ordering further investigation into the situation.
The court also reportedly expressed fears that Ortiz could potentially refuse to return the child if granted visitation rights, leading to the strict no-contact ruling.
As the legal fallout grows, Ortiz remains jailed in California without bond while awaiting trial. She has also reportedly lost her professional license as a speech-language pathologist following the criminal allegations.
Meanwhile, the larger custody battle is reportedly on hold until the criminal case concludes — meaning the situation could remain unresolved for years.
