According to authorities, 22 year old bassist Carsen Richards was taken into custody in Kentucky just moments after performing at the BBQ & Barrels festival — and the allegations against him are horrifying.
Investigators say Richards is now facing multiple charges involving alleged sex crimes against a minor, including second degree sodomy and incest involving a person under 18. Court records reportedly claim the alleged abuse dates back years, with the victim later speaking to police during an interview connected to the investigation.
And the details only get darker from there.

According to reports, police already knew Richards would be performing at the Kentucky festival and allegedly created an operation plan to arrest him after the show. Authorities reportedly considered him potentially armed, which made the situation even more serious behind the scenes.
Fans attending the concert had no idea that detectives were reportedly waiting nearby as the band finished their set.
Then came the arrest.
Richards was reportedly taken into custody near the tour buses shortly after leaving the stage, sending shockwaves across social media and country music fan pages overnight.
Even Chase Matthew himself publicly reacted to the scandal, calling the allegations “shocking” and “heartbreaking.” The country singer said he was “sick to my stomach” after learning about the accusations and immediately removed Richards from the band.
Now fans are flooding comment sections asking the same question:
How did nobody know what was allegedly happening behind the scenes?
Meanwhile, Richards remains in custody on a reported $75,000 cash bond as the investigation continues. Authorities have not announced whether additional charges could follow.
