My friend Chad texted me and asked if I could stop by the AMC where he works. It was odd for him to say that, so I asked if it could just be said over the phone. He said it could, but it would be best if I came around because there was something he had to show me. .

That day after work, I stopped by the theater. He took me into one of the employee offices and told me to sit down, which I did. He said that Kim had come to the theater, and he mentioned the day. I was initially surprised by her coming without me, but she had told me she was going to her friend’s house to hang out for a bit.
I knew the friend, and I was on good terms with her, so there was no reason for me to be suspicious. I asked him if the friend was male or female. And when I said female, he said that the person she had come with wasn’t a woman. It had been a man.
He told me he had asked me to come so that he’d be able to show me the footage since he wasn’t allowed to take it off the computer. He showed me surveillance footage of her walking into the theater. I recognized the outfit and the footage was clear enough to make out her face. Right behind her was a man.
I hoped Chad was mistaken and they were just two people who entered in quick succession. But when they got to the counter, he put his arm around her. Chad eventually went up to say hi, and Kim brushed the guy’s arm off of her. She told him he was her cousin from out of town.
She called him Jack. The thing was Chad was too smart to just buy that. He had seen the way the other guy had touched her, so he wasn’t convinced. But he didn’t say anything.
He just acted like he believed it. I knew she was lying, too, because if it had been her cousin, she would have told me her cousin was in town. If she hadn’t gone to AMC to be up to no good, she would have told me she had gone to watch a movie. She didn’t do either of those, so it was clear what was going on.
He told me that he had more, but that it was the worst part. He wanted to make sure that I was ready to see it. And when I said yes, he played something on the computer. It was the view from inside the theater itself where the movie was playing.
She and the guy were all the way near the top, which was already a bad sign. Even though it was like night vision footage, I could still see that it was her based on the patterns of her clothes. I watched in the video as she slowly hiked up her dress. He fiddled with his waistband and then she moved over to sit on his lap.
I knew what was going on before she started moving. But it was unmistakable once it started happening, and I knew I just had to accept it for what it was. It tore me apart though. It really did.
Chad saw my reaction and he consoled me. I asked if I could take the video, but he said that it wasn’t allowed. I thought of recording the screen with my phone, but I wanted it in full quality. I was so serious about it that I returned to the theater on another day with a tripod and a camera.
I set it up perfectly and recorded off the screen. So, I have the footage now, which makes me feel just a little better because I don’t feel crazy knowing that I can prove the situation if Kim tries to deny it or gaslight me. The only problem is that I really don’t know if I’m ready for a confrontation. It’s going to be so big and messy, and I just want to have my peace.
I tried to find the guy, assuming his name might truly be Jack, but I couldn’t see his face well enough in the video to confirm it was him, even if I found someone who looks a lot like him. I did check her Facebook friends, and I found a bunch of Jacks, but it is really hard for me to know if he happens to be any of them. I don’t know the guy, but I already hate him because I feel so certain that he knows she’s a married woman. There’s little chance that he doesn’t.
When the time comes for the big confrontation, I guess I’ll have it, but for now, I want to make sure that I’m prepared for it. And I also want to ensure that when it happens, I have the divorce papers ready to serve to her in an instant. There’s no explanation that will help her slither her way out of this. It’s over between us, and I’m going to do what I can to start getting used to that reality.
I figured out how I’m going to handle the conversation with Kim, and I think it’s rather poetic, though I’m clearly tooting my own horn. I’ve read way too many stories here to end up with a conversation that is painfully basic. I need to do something that is going to hurt her and I want it to be special. Because I have the footage of her cheating on me and I think it is going to be extremely hard for her to attempt to deny it.
I’m going to use that to expose her to almost everyone we know. However, what’s going to make it good is the fact that I’m not only going to just let everyone else see it, but I’m going to make sure they see it in grand fashion. The witch cheated on me in a movie theater. So, I’m going to make sure that everyone gets to see what she’s done in a movie theater.
I’ll invite everyone under the pretense of something else. Run down to theater and play the videos there. I’ll have to edit it so that everything is explained on screen or in a voiceover. I’m not even sure if my AMC will let us play my own content as opposed to something that can be rented.
I’ll figure it out because I know I’ve seen people do it, though it might not have been with a company as large as AMC. I’m still a little far off from actually confronting her because I’ve gotten fixated on doing it the way I want to do it. And that’s going to take waiting for the perfect excuse for that. It’s going to be very annoying to have to live in the same house with her and act like nothing has happened.
But I’m going to do it purely for the payoff at the end of it. I’ve been hurt so bad and I want to make sure that she doesn’t escape pain of her own. She needs to feel what I’ve been feeling. She needs to feel worse than that, in fact.
So, I don’t care if I have to wait a month or two to get the ball rolling. A simple confrontation is letting her off easy. I know it took a lot of time for this final update, but you should have known it was going to take some time based on how I ended my last post. I needed it to be perfect.
And thankfully for me, the anniversary of our marriage was just a little over 4 weeks after I made the last post. So, I decided to plan everything towards that, especially since I knew it was going to be enough time for me to make whatever arrangements I needed to make. I really had to sell it. I didn’t want her to have any suspicions.
So, I started acting extra romantic. Not in any way that required me to sacrifice money or time, but I wanted to remove any suspicions that she would have when she found out I was planning something. I called her sweet names more often. I reminisced on our best times.
I spent more time doing the things she loved with her. I wanted it to hurt like hell when I finally dropped the axe on her. While all of that was going on, I asked Chad, the AMC guy, whether they did private theater rentals, like the kind where you can play anything that you want, but he said that’s not a thing they do. I asked if it could be arranged, but it simply couldn’t, which was sad.
I felt it was going to be a nice touch if I could play that kind of video at the same place that she cheated on me, but yeah, I couldn’t fix that. He suggested I check some of the smaller theaters in our town, which I did,and I was able to get one that was willing to host the event for me. They told me that they had some requirements for the file format that the video was meant to be in. And I’m quite handy with tech, so I did it myself.
The video starts with some of the footage of the two of us that we’ve captured over the years, including parts of our weddings. I put title cards, I think they’re called, between some of the scenes to make it a little more cinematic. There’s even music playing to set the mood. Ultimately, the videos of her walking into the movie theater with the other guy start showing, and I put text on the screen to explain exactly what everyone is looking at.
I think what makes me laugh the most are the credits I put at the end which shout out myself, AMC, her cheating butt, and the unknown affair partner. I can talk about it a little more easily right now, but it still hurts. The whole process of making the video hurt because I actually had to force myself to look at the times when everything between us was perfect and happy, when we thought that the entire future belonged to us. And then I had to splice it with the worst thing that had happened in our marriage.
Watching her give herself to some guy in a movie theater. It was so cheap. I realized that even if I forgave her for what she did, I would never be able to take her back because my opinion of her would never be the same again. It has changed permanently.
Let’s move on to the actual thing. I had to design a cute little invite using Canva, and I sent it to a bunch of our family and friends. I made sure to choose the people who thought most highly of her,and I threw in a few people who I knew Kim secretly didn’t like just to make things worse. One of those people gossips a lot, which is part of the reason she doesn’t like her.
But I knew it was only going to be beneficial to me. Out of the 30 people who I sent it to,20 of them RSVPd, majorly because they live in the same city as us, so it wasn’t going to be tough for them to show up for us. I did mention in that invite that there was going to be a surprise. And I’m sure a lot of people thought that meant we were going to have another kid or something.
And before you ask, I already sorted out the situation with our child regarding where he was going to stay when the whole mess went down. Only two people hadn’t arrived by the time the screening was going to start, and they both came in together about 10 minutes later. They didn’t miss any of the good stuff, though. My heart was pounding in my chest as I watched it because I was literally the only person who knew what was coming.
Everyone else was making cute sounds as they watched what was happening. I’ll be honest and say that I was tempted to stop the entire thing at a point, but I had to fight not to. I didn’t want all of the chaos, but I had to deal with it if I wanted to get back at her. And when I realized the pain I felt because of her, I chose not to spare her.
I was going to let it all happen. Once the music changed, I knew what was going to happen, and I held my breath as the footage changed to the scene of showing her enter through the front door of the AMC. I looked at her,and she was very confused. She asked me what it was because I’m sure she herself didn’t understand.
But the moment that the other guy who we’ll call Jack showed up,she said,”Oh my god. “And went quiet. I saw her hands gripping the armrest like she wanted to stand up. But even if she wanted to get up and run away,I wouldn’t have let her.
Everyone there started murmuring as they were trying to figure out what they were watching. Even up until the point when she walked into the actual theater,it wasn’t clear because my text overlay wasn’t giving too much away. I had intentionally chosen to let the scene play out itself. So,the moment she hiked up her skirt and moved to sit on him,I heard gasps.
The people there weren’t stupid enough to think that she was sitting on me. They knew it wasn’t me. It ended with a text card that explained the entire situation, how she had lied to me about where she was going that dayand ended up in an AMC with another man who she cheated on me with. When it ended, everyone was quiet.
She was sitting there with her face hidden in her hands. There was nothing that she could say to save herself, and I enjoyed the scrutiny she was receiving. I stood up and thanked everyone for coming. I made it clear that our marriage was over because despite everything we had been through together, which they had seen in the little movie, she had chosen to do what she wanted, which was to cheat on me in a theater.
She was going to get the freedom that she wanted because I was going to divorce her. And right on cue,the process server, who had been in the theater with us,walked up and handed her the papers. On the lighter note,I joked that I’d love to hear feedback about my short film, but no one laughed. We pretty much all left the theater besides her parents and her closest friends.
I guess they wanted to console her. The other people who followed me out chose to console me instead. They were so appalled by what she had done, and I was happy to know that some people had my side. It just felt good to know that I hadn’t done anything to deserve being cheated on,and a lot of people agreed with that.
I was one of the very last people to leave the premises, and I saw her when she walked out. She looked at me and paused like she wanted to say something, but she walked away in the end. Her parents came to me,though. They had a lot of emotions, but they were mostly angry at me for what I had done to their girl.
I told them she deserved it. They said two wrongs didn’t make a right. I told them they couldn’t dictate how I would react,so I reacted the way I wanted. They left after that.
We’ve started the divorce process already, and we’re clearly not going to agree on anything. It’ll probably be the usual song and dance, though. 50/50 custody,I pay alimony, and she might get the house, especially because she’s the mother of and the court will feel like there’s better stability if she’s the one in the home with her kid. Whichever way it goes,I’ll take it.
I’m just happy to almost be through with her. This will be my last update on this, but I will let you know that it was as satisfying as I hoped it would be. So,if you ever want to be petty in the same way I was, please do. It was worth it.
People are uncomfortable because you didn’t suffer quietly, because you didn’t swallow it,negotiate her dignity away,or let her walk out looking misunderstood instead of caught. You forced the truth into the open, and now everyone has to sit with it. Was it harsh? Sure.
But harsh is lying to your spouse, risking their health, and coming home like nothing happened. Now,the important part, you’re done. You don’t need to keep proving anything. You got clarity, finality, and control over the narrative.
From here on out,the win is calm, consistency, and letting her deal with the long-term fallout while you rebuild without lies in the background. She chose secrecy. You chose daylight.
That’s not cruelty,that’s consequences.
