I found out my wife of six years was cheating on me. I found out who it was, too. My best friend. The two people I trusted most in the world had been sleeping together behind my back for months.

It started with a TikTok video. Vivian was scrolling through her feed, showing me some posts about hidden gem games. When the pizza arrived, she went to grab it and left her phone with me. I wanted to send one of the videos to myself on Discord so I could check it out later.

But when Discord opened, the profile picture wasn’t hers. The username wasn’t hers. It was a completely different account. .

My name wasn’t in her recent chats. I had a bad feeling, but I heard her coming back, so I switched back to TikTok and acted normal. I couldn’t shake the feeling all night. I wanted to question her, but I knew if I showed my hand, she’d have time to clean everything up.

So I stayed quiet. and waited. The next night, she went to bed early. Her phone was charging, so I took it to the living room and opened Discord.

I switched to that secret account easily. The username and profile picture were completely different from the ones I knew. I never would have associated it with her. She was in a few gaming servers, nothing suspicious there.

But her private messages told a different story. There were six conversations. The first three were regular, normal chats with friends, nothing wrong. The fourth on the list ruined my life.

. She was talking to someone named Josh. Their messages were familiar, intimate. Then I saw her ask him about a picture they had taken earlier, and there it was: a selfie of her and Josh together.

My best friend. My wife. They were meeting up behind my back, and it was very clear from the messages that they were sleeping together. They had been talking on Discord for about seven months.

There were at least five instances where it was obvious they had slept together, plus a lot of very intimate and dirty texting in between. I sat in the living room and cried. I hadn’t seen it coming. Two of the people who owed me loyalty had betrayed me in the worst way possible.

Once I got my emotions out, I felt empty. I wanted to wake her up roughly and scare her, but I knew that wouldn’t get me anywhere. So I documented everything. I took screenshots of every message.

I recorded her screen with my phone. I made sure there was no way she could deny the proof. Then I plugged her phone back in and slept on the couch. I couldn’t bear to sleep beside her.

I knew that when the time came, I was going to make the confrontation absolutely break her. I’d been broken by her,and Josh, and I wasn’t going to be the bigger person. I was going to destroy them both as best I could. [Music]

I met with a divorce lawyer and told him everything.

He asked a lot of questions about Vivian and about her assets. He told me it was almost impossible that she’d get nothing even with the infidelity, but that I’d likely be able to come out on top. I knew divorce was a rigged game, but if I could get out without being fleeced, I’d take it. The papers were ready, but I held off on having her served until I did what I wanted to do.

Our friend group was tight. We were about ten of us, all gamers who met on a state-wide server and eventually formed a group in our city. We had game night twice a month. When the next one came around, I decided that was where I was going to get my revenge.

I knew it would mess up the group dynamic, but those people were good, and I could tell they’d take my side. At the game night, we did the usual party games, some video games, then ended with Dungeons and Dragons as we always did. After the game wrapped up, I wasted no time. I told everyone that I felt Josh and Vivian needed to be expelled from the group.

Most of them laughed, thinking I was making a joke about their play during the D&D session. Someone mentioned that, but I immediately clarified that it had nothing to do with the game. It had everything to do with the fact that they were sleeping with one another. The room went dead quiet.

I saw her and Josh share a quick panic look. Neither of them could say a word. One person asked if I was joking. I said I was entirely serious, and that I had proof.

One of the guys said he wanted to see it. I brought out the screenshots, and everyone exceptthe two cheaters gathered around to look. Once it became obvious I wasn’t lying, most of them went to sit down, but a few stuck around until I showed them the most important messages. Josh was the first to speak.

He said, “I get it, man, but you couldn’t confront me without an audience? ” Before I could respond, one of the women in the group snapped, “Really, Josh? Really? ” That shut him up.

No one was going to take his side. I’d done what I wanted, and I didn’t want to make the others sit through the awkwardness. I told them I was heading out,and it’d be a good chance for them to follow. They all listened.

Everyone except the couple whose house we were at left. I saw Vivian outside. I told her she’d be better off going home with Josh instead of me. She had an apologetic look.

She said she didn’t want to do that. She wanted to come with me so we could talk. I told her she could do what she wanted, but if she came with me, I wasn’t going to say a single word to her. She chose to come home with me.

The car ride was completely silent. At home, I didn’t speak. She wanted to say something, but she couldn’t find her courage. Eventually she tried, saying it didn’t mean anything, and that she was sorry.

But it went on for seven months. That meant something to her. In the morning, she was served with divorce papers before she headed to work. She put off work and tried to plead with me.

She begged me to say something because it was killing her. That only gave me more reason to keep my silence. About three days later, she said she was going to move out. She told me that I was breaking her heart, and she couldn’t take it anymore.

She said, “You’ve left me, but you’re making me go through all this pain? ” That line was so absurd I nearly lashed out, but I restrained myself. I just gave her a heated look. She moved out the next day.

I’ve been in the apartment alone since then, and it feels like I can finally think straight. Without her around, there’s no constant reminder of the betrayal. The divorce process dragged on. We couldn’t agree in negotiations, so we ended up in court.

I presented all my evidence. My attorney made a strong case. As he predicted, it wasn’t an overwhelming win, but it was a win. I kept the apartment.

I don’t have to pay alimony. I only had to split the savings I had with her. Money can be saved up. The last thing I wanted was to be tied to her forever with alimony.

Sometime after the divorce, Josh reached out to me randomly, saying he wanted to apologize. I told him I acknowledged his attempt, but I was never going to accept it. He broke up my marriage, end then tried to pretend words would fix it. I let him know I resented him,and that it was better if he never reached out to me again.

I couldn’t think of a creative way to really hit him back, but honestly, it wasn’t worth it. I was more focused on Vivian anyway. She called me at some point when she was going through a lot of stress. She said I was the only one who knew how to make her feel better.

None of the friend group wanted anything to do with her anymore, and she didn’t know how to explain her feelings to her other friends. I told her that was tragic, but I wasn’t going to feel sorry for her because of stress. I told her she gave me more stress and sadness than I deserved, so I didn’t give a crap what she was going through. She’d get through it or she wouldn’t.

After that call, I called her dad and her brother on a whim. I told them exactly why we got divorced. From their reactions, it was clear they hadn’t known the details. I knew they’d give her hell.

It felt good knowing she was about to have more stress poured on her. A few hours later, she called crying, saying I didn’t need to do that. I told her she didn’t need to cheat on me, but she did it anyway. Then I told her she should be grateful, because that was where I was going to end things with her.

I wasn’t going to talk to her ever again. Before I could hang up, she said she had one last thing to say. She hesitated. Then she said, “I’m really struggling finding a new apartment I can afford.

It’s hard for me to say, but could you help me out with some… ” I hung up and blocked her. She’ll be fine. So will I.

It hurts like hell right now, but I hope someday I’ll look back at this and laugh. It’s hard to imagine, but I think it’s possible. Just wish me luck.
