Patrick Clancy Remarried After Divorcing Lindsay Clancy as She Faces Trial in the Deaths of Their Three Children

Patrick Clancy has started a new chapter of his life years after the devastating deaths of his three children and the collapse of his marriage to Lindsay Clancy.

Lindsay is currently facing murder charges in connection with the January 2023 deaths of their children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan. While the case has placed Lindsay’s mental health and medical treatment under intense scrutiny, Patrick has quietly rebuilt his life away from Massachusetts.

His remarriage was revealed in court on July 23, shortly before he was expected to testify in Lindsay’s trial.

Patrick Has Married Again

Lindsay’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, confirmed in court that Patrick had divorced Lindsay and remarried.

Patrick now lives in New York City with his second wife, who is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist.

Reddington referenced Patrick’s new family while discussing the enormous emotional burden he has carried since the deaths of his children.

The disclosure marked one of the first times Patrick’s new marriage had been publicly acknowledged in connection with the criminal proceedings.

He Once Asked People to Forgive Lindsay

Despite the horrifying circumstances surrounding the deaths, Patrick has repeatedly refused to portray his former wife simply as a monster.

In a 2024 interview, he explained his feelings in remarkably personal terms.

“I wasn’t married to a monster — I was married to someone who got sick,” he said.

It was also during that interview that Patrick confirmed he had divorced Lindsay after she was charged in connection with the children’s deaths.

His decision to speak compassionately about Lindsay has remained striking throughout the case.

Patrick previously released a statement asking people to forgive her, remembering the woman she had been before her mental-health crisis.

The Day Everything Changed

On Jan. 24, 2023, Patrick left the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home after Lindsay asked him to pick up dinner.

Approximately 25 minutes later, he returned to find Lindsay seriously injured after jumping from a second-story window.

He called 911.

While speaking with the emergency dispatcher, Patrick discovered that something even more horrifying had happened inside the house.

His three children had been strangled with exercise bands.

Cora and Dawson were taken to the hospital but could not be saved. Callan, the youngest, died several days later.

Patrick was suddenly faced with the loss of all three of his children and a wife who had attempted to take her own life.

Patrick Has Also Challenged Lindsay’s Medical Care

The tragedy has since led Patrick to question the medical treatment Lindsay received in the months before the killings.

Earlier this year, he filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against several healthcare providers on behalf of his children’s estates.

The lawsuit alleged that Lindsay had been prescribed numerous medications during the period leading up to the deaths.

According to the allegations, eight of the medications were prescribed during a particularly short period in late 2022.

The medications included antidepressants, sedatives, antipsychotic medication and mood stabilizers.

Patrick’s lawsuit also described Lindsay’s alleged mental state before the killings.

He claimed she had begun experiencing disturbing symptoms, including hearing what she described as an unfamiliar male voice.

According to the lawsuit, Lindsay believed the voice was commanding her to take her children with her and suggesting that she needed to die.

Those allegations have become especially significant because the defense is arguing that Lindsay suffered from postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible for the children’s deaths.

Prosecutors Tell a Different Story

The prosecution’s theory is fundamentally different.

Prosecutors argue that Lindsay intentionally arranged circumstances that allowed her to be alone with the children before killing them.

They have sought to establish that her actions were deliberate rather than the result of an uncontrollable psychotic episode.

The defense, meanwhile, acknowledges that Lindsay killed the children but argues that her severe mental illness prevented her from understanding the nature or consequences of what she was doing.

Patrick’s testimony could therefore become one of the most emotionally significant parts of the trial.

He is not simply a witness describing a crime.
