A former Jeopardy! winner pleaded guilty to two counts of felony secret peeping on Monday, July 26.

Philip Joseph “Joey” DeSena, 44, was arrested on the charges on Dec. 1.

DeSena completed a psycho-sexual evaluation prior to the sentencing and does not have to register as a 𝒔𝒆𝒙 offender, WAVY reported.

According to a transcript of plea obtained by PEOPLE, DeSena received a 60-month probationary sentence.

According to an indictment, DeSena “unlawfully, willfully and feloniously” for the purpose of “arousing and gratifying the sexual desire of a person,” “secretly and surreptitiously” installed cameras in the bathroom and bedroom at a location in Corolla, N.C.

The incident allegedly occurred on Oct. 10.

The victim allegedly told law enforcement that she had traveled to Corolla for a wedding and found two black USB wall chargers with cameras inside her rental home, prosecutors alleged at the hearing, WAVY reported.

DeSena turned himself in on Dec. 1 and was released two days later after posting a $5,000 bond, according to WBTV.

According to NJ.com, DeSena, a development engineer, won Jeopardy! show twice in November 2024 and earned $44,698. He returned to the show for the Champions Wildcard Tournament in January, where he vied for a place in the Tournament of Champions, the outlet reported, but he lost in the semi-finals.
