LISBON, Ohio (KNWA/KFTA) — “19 Kids and Counting” star Josh Duggar has a new home: a federal prison in Ohio, his fourth different prison in the last year.
Duggar, 38, is in the midst of serving a 12-year and 7-month-long federal prison sentence after he was convicted in 2021 of possessing child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) and sentenced in May 2022.
A spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons told KNWA/FOX24 that Duggar arrived at the Elkton Federal Correctional Institution in Lisbon, Ohio, on July 8.
The BOP website describes FCI Elkton as “a low security federal correctional institution with an adjacent low security satellite prison.” It currently holds more than 2,000 inmates.
Lisbon, Ohio, is located in the eastern part of the state and roughly 60 miles west of Pittsburgh. Penn.
Since arriving at FCI Seagoville in Texas on June 27, 2022, from the Washington County Detention Center, he has been moved to Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
A BOP spokesperson previously told KNWA/FOX24 that Duggar officially transferred from the FCI Seagoville Unit to the FMC in Fort Worth on May 29.
He was later transferred to the Oklahoma City Federal Transfer Center (FTC) before being moved to FCI Elkton.
KNWA/FOX24 previously asked the BOP why Duggar had been moved, and the following statement was given:
“For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including reasons for transfer.”
The former reality TV star’s lawyer, Beau Brindley, recently told TMZ that Duggar’s transfers from prison to prison are “punitive.” Brindley said they stem from correctional officers allegedly violating the rules by opening Duggar’s legal mail at Seagoville.
Duggar is expected to be released from prison on Feb. 2, 2033.
