In a deeply concerning development, Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC’s “Today” show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, has been reported missing in Arizona. Authorities are treating the situation with urgency, as homicide detectives have joined the search efforts, raising alarms about her safety.
Nancy was last seen at her residence in Catalina Foothills, located just north of Tucson, around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a family member alerted authorities around noon on Saturday, expressing worry for her whereabouts.
Described as a “vulnerable adult” with health issues that may hinder her mobility, Nancy’s disappearance has prompted a large-scale search operation. Sheriff Chris Nanos emphasized the seriousness of the situation during a press briefing, noting that the involvement of homicide detectives is not typical for missing person cases.
