‘Marshals’ Release Schedule: When Do New Episodes of the ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff Air?

Get ready, Yellowstone fans! Luke Grimes is back in action as Kayce Dutton in the highly anticipated spinoff, Marshals. This new CBS series, which originally carried the title Y: Marshals, dives deeper into the life of the youngest Dutton son after the dramatic conclusion of Yellowstone.

In the series finale of Yellowstone, Kayce made a significant decision by selling his family’s ranch land back to the Broken Rock Reservation. Now, in Marshals, he joins a U.S. Marshals unit in Montana, where he faces the challenges of balancing family ties, duty, and the emotional toll that comes with being a frontline defender in a region plagued by violence.

Grimes, who portrayed Kayce for five memorable seasons on Yellowstone, initially thought he had left the character behind when the flagship series wrapped up in December 2024. Reflecting on his time in the role, he shared with PEOPLE in June 2025, “It felt like it was over for me. I had seven years of living with this character, and I thought I’d never see him again, except for his hat and jacket in my closet.” However, it wasn’t long before the idea of a spinoff began to take shape.

Mark your calendars, as Marshals is set to premiere on March 1, with the debut episode titled “Piya Wiconi.” Grimes was initially unsure about the potential direction of Kayce’s story in a spinoff, but he eventually found a compelling narrative that reignited his passion for the character. “We wanted to ensure it had a real story, something engaging and believable,” he explained. “If it was just about him being happy, that wouldn’t be interesting.”

The first season of Marshals will feature 13 episodes, according to reports. In this new chapter, Kayce will be joined by a team of U.S. Marshals, including the character Belle Skinner, played by Arielle Kebbel. In a recent interview, Kebbel praised Grimes, saying, “He’s such a badass. It’s incredible to work alongside him and see this different side of his character.”

Fans can catch new episodes of Marshals every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. The series is brought to life by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, who serves as an executive producer. Notably, this marks his first 𝒹𝓇𝒶𝓂𝒶 venture on CBS, following the success of his previous works on the Paramount Network and Paramount+.

The release schedule for Marshals is as follows: the premiere on March 1, followed by Episode 2, “Zone of Death,” on March 8, Episode 3, “Road to Nowhere,” on March 15, and Episode 4, “The Gathering Storm,” on March 22.
