South Carolina police revealed Wednesday that they recovered a body with the matching athletic attire of a personal trainer who vanished after leaving the gym last week – just as new security footage emerged of the missing woman appearing “disoriented” outside a stranger’s home.
Elena Katherine Moore was last seen leaving Planet Fitness in Lexington when she headed toward a wooded area behind an adjacent Lowe’s Home Improvement store at 9:17 p.m. Thursday, the Lexington Police Department said.

The 39-year-old trainer was wearing an olive green zip-up hoodie and black athletic pants when she left the gym, according to surveillance footage.
Police found a body with the same clothing description, wearing similar clothes, Fox 8 reported. It’s not clear where or when the person was found, and authorities are still waiting for a coroner to make an exact identification.
Police had expanded their search Wednesday to a wooded area near Lakeside Middle School, roughly a mile away from the Planet Fitness, according to The State.
Moore’s husband, Brannon Slice, was not eyed as a person of interest as of Tuesday.

Slice reported her missing sometime Friday, and described Moore’s disappearance as “very out of character” for his wife of one year.
A week before her mysterious walk into the woods, a confused Moore was seen rifling through strangers’ food deliveries and mail packages in an apartment complex, according to Ring camera footage obtained by NewsNation.
Moore paced around the complex’s landing before she grabbed a DoorDash order left at a man’s front door. The homeowner told the outlet that Moore seemed “disoriented about where she was or whatever she was doing.”
The man’s partner later spotted her poking through a neighbor’s packages, and Moore admitted that she didn’t know what she was doing when pressed.
The couple said they turned the Ring footage over to police.
Lauren Beasley, a friend of Moore’s, told Fox News that she noticed the media-savvy personal trainer’s decreased presence online recently.
“She is very active on social media so her going radio [silence] for the last month is out of character,” she said.
Beasley noted that she hadn’t spoken to Moore in about a month.

Fox News reported that Slice had commented that Moore was “not well” in a since-deleted Facebook post.
Police attempted to track Moore’s phone, but it’s unlcear if she was still in possession of it.
As of Monday, authorities were still unde the belief that she was not in imminent danger, WIS News 10 reported.
Authorities said Moore’s disappearance is still considered an active investigation and asked the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to help.
Moore is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs approximately 120 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
