The story follows Hig (played by Jacob Elordi), a young pilot living after the pandemic but having lost his beloved wife. He lives a solitary life in the hangar of an old aircraft with his loyal dog Jasper and Bangley (Josh Brolin) – a former armed soldier with a pillar-like personality.
Their self-sufficient and isolated lives are turned upside down when the radio on Hig’s 1956 Cessna unexpectedly picks up a hidden secret signal. This signal ignites in him the hope that civilized people are still surviving outside.
Hig decides to risk crossing the safety line to find the source of the sound. However, what they face in the outside world is not only devastation, but also groups of survivors, deranged and ready to loot anything.
