Chris Brown is officially fighting back in his ongoing custody dispute with ex-girlfriend Diamond Brown over their 4-year-old daughter, Lovely Symphani Brown. According to newly filed court documents, the singer is requesting joint legal and physical custody after Diamond asked a Los Angeles court to grant her sole custody and limit Brown to visitation rights.

The legal battle began earlier this year when Diamond filed a paternity and custody petition, arguing that their daughter has lived with her since birth and requesting primary decision-making authority. She also sought child support and asked that Brown cover certain legal expenses related to the case.
Brown’s latest filing rejects Diamond’s proposal. Instead, he is asking the court to establish a joint custody arrangement, giving both parents equal legal and physical rights regarding their daughter. He is also requesting that each party handle their own legal costs rather than being required to pay Diamond’s attorney fees.
The custody battle comes after weeks of public tension between the former couple. Diamond previously accused Brown of attempting to interfere with her personal relationships, while Brown’s current partner, Jada Wallace, publicly defended him and claimed he had been prevented from seeing his daughter. Diamond denied those allegations, leading to a heated exchange across social media.
The dispute has attracted significant attention because it unfolded shortly after Brown and Wallace welcomed a baby boy together. Brown is also the father of daughter Royalty Brown and son Aeko Brown from previous relationships.
At this stage, the court has not ruled on either parent’s request. The case will continue as both sides present their arguments regarding what custody arrangement is in the best interest of their daughter.
