Shocking Discovery: Remains of Missing Los Alamos Lab Employee Found in New Mexico Woods After Nearly a Year

In a tragic turn of events, the remains of Melissa Casias, a Los Alamos National Laboratory employee who vanished nearly a year ago, have been discovered in a remote New Mexico forest. She was reported missing on June 26, 2025, after failing to show up for work and not returning home from a visit to her daughter’s workplace. Other notable cases include a retired Air Force major general missing since February and the recent fatal shooting of Caltech astrophysicist Carl Grillmair in Los Angeles County.

 

In response to these unsettling incidents, the Republican-led House Oversight Committee announced an investigation into the deaths and disappearances of individuals with access to sensitive scientific information.
