The film revolves around the journey of Wang Wei (Xie Miao), a deranged father who scoured the underworld to rescue his daughter kidnapped by a ruthless criminal network. On his solitary journey confronting both corrupt police and criminals, he meets and teams up with Navin (Joe Taslim) – a tenacious journalist also searching for his mysteriously missing wife.

After some changes to the release date, The Furious will officially premiere in theaters starting June 12, 2026. The film also features other prominent names in Southeast Asian martial arts such as Yayan Ruhian and Jeeja Yanin.
