The story follows Ben Reilly (played by Nicolas Cage), an aging, time-delayed constable in 1930s New York City. Following the death of his wife, Ruby, he confronts his past as the city’s only superhero when he receives a missing person investigation request from a friend, Cat Hardy.

The trailer confirms the appearance of villains with real superpowers, including Flint Marko (who has transformed into a sand-like creature), played by Jack Huston, and the notorious crime boss Silvermane, played by Brendan Gleeson, who is taking over the city.
